一.otherwise用作副詞，表示用別的方法，不同地；

　　He says it's genuine, but we think otherwise.

　　他說這是真的,但我們不這樣認(rèn)為。

　　They should have been working, but they were otherwise engaged.

　　他們應(yīng)該在工作,但他們卻干別的事。

　　The soup was cold, but it was an otherwise excellent.

　　除了湯是涼的以外,那頓飯菜是很好的。

　　二.otherwise用作連詞，表示否則，要不然；

　　You'd better go now, otherwise you'll miss the train.

　　你最好現(xiàn)在就走,要不然就趕不上火車了。

　　You should be more careful, otherwise you might meet with some accident.

　　你應(yīng)該更加小心,要不然你會出事的。

　　三.otherwise用作形容詞，表示不同的；

　　The truth is quite otherwise.

　　實情大有出入。

　　四.otherwise than 除…之外

　　unless otherwise stated 除非另作說明...

　　but otherwise 但在別的方面卻...
